It was created at the turn of the 14th and 15th centuries as an economic and defensive base for a rich wine-producing town. St. Catherine's Rotunda

Rotunda of St. Catherine – the pearl of Znojmo Castle.
This national cultural monument, surrounded by the history of a strategic promontory, stands on a site where people settled as early as the 4th millennium BC. The castle, founded in the 11th century by the Přemyslids, protected the merchant route and served the Moravian margraves and Bohemian kings. Today, the rotunda attracts visitors with its uniqueness – entry is regulated by climatic conditions, it is open from 5. 4. 2025. Come and discover a piece of medieval glory!

Znojmo Castle

Znojmo Castle – the guardian of history above the Dyje River.
On a strategic promontory, inhabited as early as the 4th millennium BC, the Přemyslid castle was built in the 11th century to guard the trade route from Austria. From the residence of the Moravian margraves to the diplomatic center of the Bohemian kings to the Baroque Deblín castle, it has gone through a turbulent history – including the Hussite wars and a fire in the 17th century. Today, its story comes to life in the museum, where frescoes by Jan Michael Fisée tell the story of the glory of the Bohemian lands.

Podyji Park

Podyjí National Park – wild beauty above the Dyje River.
Between Vranov and Znojmo, the 40 km long valley of the Dyje River winds its way, where rock walls, meanders and forest-steppes create a unique mosaic of nature. Preserved thanks to the Iron Curtain, the park hosts rare plants such as orchids and animals from otters to praying mantises.
